Dr. Steingard is the Chief Medical Officer at Howard Center where she has worked for over 23 years. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Her clinical practice includes patients with schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses. She has an interest in early episode psychosis and has participated in statewide and agency initiatives to better serve this population and their families. She has trained in Open Dialogue and is a member of the planning group developing Collaborative Network Approach. She is the editor of the recently published book, Critical Psychiatry, a practical resource for clinicians seeking a solid foundation in the contemporary controversies within the field.
