Have you paid attention to your breath lately? Breathwork has been something I've used in the past, and incorporate with some of my clients. Whether it was the box method, 4-7-8, or 5-5 (especially when you're trying to sleep it works wonders!) I've used them sporadically, my acting coach incorporates them in class, but I hadn't yet taken the plunge and committed to it like a practice. Not until I had a lovely exchange with a woman in the elevator about her devout breathwork practice that is.
But it's not just great for stress, and your immune system; breathwork like the Soma Breath Technique, Wim Hof Method, and holotropic breath work can also induce states of altered consciousness, help clear blocks and release trauma. There's also growing evidence that our brains possess the ability to make our own DMT (I hope I don't get banned again for those 3 letters LOL). The jury is still out exactly how but were starting to break the ice.
So I'm here to share my experience with you after having successfully incorporated Wim Hof's breathing method into my morning routine and let me tell ya.......
PS The cold ocean swims are coming......for now I'm still in the shower and pool lol
