Join us as Angelique Fish the co-founder of The Wine Hiking Society, shares her personal journey of healing and empowering herself and other women by getting into the outdoors through hiking and backpacking. During this episode we talk about: making the decision to have an awesome life despite challenges, empowerment and healing through hiking and backpacking, releasing limiting beliefs around the outdoors and women, transitioning from fear to freedom and leading and so much more!

Angelique Fish is originally from a teeny tiny town (population of 80) in Oklahoma where “over yonder” is a place and where people say things like “warsh” instead of “wash”.  When she was 30 years old she spontaneously signed up for a backpacking trip to Havasupai Falls and absolutely love it. That trip and the end of her 10-year emotionally abusive marriage were the catalysts that lead her to discover her love for hiking backpacking and traveling. She now lives in Utah with her husband Rob and is incredibly passionate about getting women into the outdoors through hiking and backpacking and creating a sense of sisterhood of women being allies to other women because we are all on the same team. Angelique says “I will never forget how empowering it felt to hack away at a fallen tree for firewood, to filter water for cooking and drinking from a flowing stream, and to sit down at the end of a long, tiring day and enjoy good conversation with great friends and no distractions. It’s those feelings of strength and sisterhood that I want to pass on to other women, to know what it’s like to only have the stuff on their back, the women beside them, and—most importantly—themselves to count on.”
