Badass Basic Bitch

188 episodes - English - Latest episode: 19 days ago - ★★★★ - 531 ratings

Brianna was born in New York and raised by a single mom of 5 kids. Through her struggles with self-worth and battling an eating disorder for over a decade, Brianna found herself packing everything in her Honda Civic and moving 3,000 miles to California where she knew no one, to chase an entrepreneur dream.

She found her passion, voice, and used her scrappiness and hardships to achieve something no one ever thought she could; creating a multi-million dollar company, which she sold. But then she found herself in the middle of her own divorce leaving her a single mom of 3. Now, remarried, Brianna lives in Austin with her husband and four children, as she continues to build companies and empower women to see they are enough.

So, what is a Badass Basic Bitch? It all started at an event, in a deep debate when another woman called Brianna a “basic bitch”. Quick off the mark, she replied with, “I’m a badass basic bitch”. We are often quick to judge and quicker to jump to our own conclusions. This woman knew very little about me. She judged me simply on our few interactions with each other. She coined me how she felt I fit into her view.

These Baddie Bs are everywhere. They’re our neighbors, women at church, soccer moms, or single women at the bar. These women are all of different religions and races, they are poor and rich, married, divorced or single. But they all have one thing in common; they are ordinary women doing extraordinary things. And now, it’s time their stories are told.

Let's Look Back at the First 6 Months of Badass Basic Bitch

August 24, 2021 10:00 - 32 minutes - 44.3 MB

All too often, you hear “basic bitch” being hurled around like a slur. If you look it up in the Urban Dictionary, you'll see that a basic bitch is someone completely uninspired. Unoriginal. She's "unflinchingly upholding the status quo and stereotypes of their gender without realizing it." She's not special but she doesn't even realize it. Well, screw that. Who needs that kind of judgment?  Not us. Because we’re badass basic bitches — Baddie B’s, if you will. And we’re taking the term back ...

Mom guilt and mom-shaming is definitely a thing. A real, scary thing. Whether we shame ourselves or someone else, mom guilt and mom-shaming can be dangerous. So how do we fix it? We start now. We start with our own children and in our own lives.

The Drug of Gossip

April 27, 2021 14:00 - 28 minutes - 38.7 MB

Motivational speaker Jim Rohn said, “You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Whether that’s true or not — other people’s mindset is contagious. When you spend time with people who also focus on positive thinking, it can rub off on you and help you see the bright side of things. When you spend time with people who gossip and engage in negative thoughts, it will also rub off on you. In today's society, women will bond over gossiping. But in reality, instead of bond...

April 13, 2021 12:00 - 34 minutes - 47.6 MB

Hindsight is 2020. It's easier to analyze and evaluate situations when we're looking back on them in the past than when we're in the present moment. Early 20s. Mid 20s. Late 20s. It’s insane how much someone can change in a decade and not even by force. It happens so quickly. It feels like yesterday, we were in our 20s complaining about whatever 20-year olds complain about. Now, we're Moms in our 30s! We may not have the same interests that we did when we were in our 20s, but there are certa...
