We are recording from Massapequa HS with legendary Head Coach Tom Sheedy. He has been at the helm since 1995 and has won NINE Long Island Championships during that time including the past three. He also led them to the New York State Championship in 2006 and 2018. We spoke about a number of topics and he provided terrific insight including whether they were surprised not to face Joey Savino in this year's Long Island Championship, how they overcome a 5-6 start to win the NYS championship in 2018, whether the season should start later, how they continue to churn out titles year-after-year, why he loves when alumni come to visit, his thoughts on multi-sport athletes, why pitchers need rest in the offseason and the impact of players like Johnny Castagnozzi, Travis Honeyman and Wade Kelly on the youth of Massapequa.
