So after a little bit of internet stalking and some complicated time-zone conversions, I finally connected with Jay Ferrugia, a masterful coach with some 25+ years of experience in athlete preparation, personal training, online training and a writer of articles for widely read publications.

Jay has a long and successful career in coaching, something which I have always said is critical when analysing a persons skills and success in their field.  Generally speaking, if they have survived in their chosen field for some time, then chances are they are knowledgeable, shrewd, skilled and driven to produce quality outcomes, day in, day out.

Jay ticks all these boxes.

We connected via Zoom, so apologies in advance for the less than perfect audio, however the conversion is completely audible, I just sound like I trapped in a jam tin.

We spoke at length about the past, present and future of fitness, covered some of Jay’s philosophies in detail and came to a few conclusions and dropped a few nuggets of good for all your aspiring trainers and clients alike.

What stood out to me, was Jay’s clear and concise approach, his patience for the process of fitness and belief that in most cases common sense, discipline and a consistent approach to the task at hand will produce the required result.

I agree with Jay wholeheartedly, in fact, I got the feeling that Jay and I are cut from the same cloth.

I hope you enjoy this one.
