The best part was getting this text from @SaraHall3 this morning: “Ran a marathon on the course yesterday! Last 12.2 at 5:17 pace!” Something special could be in store come December 20. #TheMarathonProject
And now I’m super excited to test myself doing something that long (and far from what I like) but where I will learn so much and grow as an athlete. (And probably I’m also doing this 24h in a track because I love that pain feeling
On this day in 1964, Peter Snell of New Zealand sets outdoor Mile world record of 3:54.1 in Auckland, witnessed by 20,000 fans in Western Springs Stadium. The 3-time Olympic champion ran a painful positive split: 1:54 and 2:00.1!
