Amerikan Therapy sits down with Tari Cox, the author of "The Wilderness: Saved and Suicidal", to talk about her harrowing journey through multiple suicide attempts and her road to wellness. Tari's story offers a necessary picture of how someone who is successful by all external accounts and seemingly well adjusted could be quietly in the midst of a mental health crisis. Tari was in a rigorous graduate program studying clinical psychology when she first started realizing that something was seriously wrong. This episode offers a powerful insight into how "normal" people can be living and succeeding in life on the outside, while deeply struggling on the inside. The Amerikan Therapy team wants all of our listeners to know that there is help out there. If you are struggling, know that you do not have to suffer in silence and that you are not alone. Please stay steadfast on your journey to wellness, because you are necessary.
