Normal is the predictable people, places, and things that give us an emotionally secure place in the world. 2020 has ripped that safety net out from under us, and without it, we can easily start to feel lost and trapped.

In today's episode, we will talk about how important reclaiming that sense of normal really is. And some of the ways you can find it.

We start off introducing you to Filomena's, a locally owned and operated Waterford Connecticut restaurant that has truly set the bar for social distance dining. Owner Mike Buscetto spared no expense or effort in preparing to re-open. He and his team have somehow made eating out during a pandemic seem normal.

Mike Buscetto also sat down with us for an interview, so you will get to hear first hand how he has gone above and beyond the state's requirements. Mike and I both encourage you to shop local business, they need you now more than ever.

Trish and I will also talk about what we mean when we're referring to "normal". And how losing that normalcy can completely throw off your life's balance.

Not to worry, though, we will also give you our take on how to get back out there and start to take it back as safely as possible. We all need to begin to live our lives again because we have no idea when this health crisis will be over.

Trish and I want to encourage you to make plans again. Mark the date on that empty calendar, and get together with a few loved ones! Or set up a hike with some friends and get outdoors!

We will also share about our recent trip to the Rhode Island Desert (yup, right in the middle of the New England forest). It was a great day out in the sun, and it will be the subject of our first vlog post.
