Shane Smith is a former Colonel and National Defense Fellow in the US Air Force who is now a Lecturer at the University of Tennessee. Shane had Top Secret clearance with insight into national security. He has extensive experience in operations with a demonstrated history leading large, complex organizations.
The EP3 incident is a good example of when an unprofessional event can be dangerous, but typically our air space is safe.
We also discuss Russia’s unilateral takeover of Crimea in recent history, and what the means for the Ukraine and the United States. SInce Ukraine is not a NATO country, there was no military operation in place.
Tensions have been rising in the United States with Russia and China and there may be long term implications affecting a variety of industries, relations and global security. The biggest threat is their nuclear arsenal.
Though Shane has to be cautious about what he shares, he provides great insight into our relations with Russia and China and their tricky relationship.
Off-shoring is occurring more and more with China with products such as pharmaceuticals, and even intellectual property. Growing your GDP (economy) is through population and China’s growing elderly population is causing a problem.
Re-education camps, essentially concentration camps, as a means to keep a strong hold on citizens.
