We have all had that experience of wanting to pursue a goal, but we just don't feeling like putting in the work.  Our mind tell us "yes" but our emotions tell us "no."

Understanding the cycle of meaning is fundamental for getting our emotions in line with our minds, and ultimately understanding what is really holding us back:

Stimulus: A situation happensStory: Based on the situation, we tell ourselves a storyEmotion: Based on the story, we feel a particular way about the situationAction: We will act according to the emotion

We go through this cycle many different times every day.  The key here is recognizing the stories and limiting beliefs that we have.  These tend to be the things that are really holding us back.  The more personal the limiting belief is, the more difficult it will be to overcome.

We are not defined by our circumstances or our beliefs, but as humans we have the capacity to choose to overcome them.
