Chef Knife: is a very versatile knife used for complex cuts, slicing, dicing and so much more.
Paring Knife: has a short handle and blade which makes it good for peeling fruits and vegetables or other small tasks.
Boning Knife: used for trimming around bones to get the most meat as possible.
Utility Knife: it's in between a paring knife and chef's knife so it is good for items that are too long for a paring knife.
Cleaver: good for cutting through big hard vegetables, large chunks of meat and some smaller bones.
Carving Knife: good for carving thick pieces of meat.
Filet Knife: has a thin and sharp blade, making it great for breaking down fish.
Bread Knife: a pretty self explanatory knife for slicing or cutting bread.
