@stephfuccio was mentioned in Podcasting A First Year Podcasting Balancing Act with Mete Yurtsever of Değer Yaratmanın Formülü 3/25/2021 0 Comments Powered by RedCircle How do you balance the millions of decisions that need to be made that first year of podcasting? In this conversation we discuss these decisions with Mete Yurtsever of the Değer Yaratmanın Formülü podcast. Mete is from and in Turkey now but that hasn't always been the case. He has over 25 years of experience in Marketing and 13 of those years he was working and living in 5 different countries: Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine & Moldova. Now he’s an Independent Consultant helping companies create value through design thinking, facilitating workshops and providing training. In this conversation we chat about: what types of podcasts are popular in Turkey what languages and apps are the most commonly used in Turkey why he started his own podcast & what the goals are for it what he learned after doing a listener survey for his business podcast how to prioritize the many podcasting decisions like sound treatment, transcripts, marketing and social media his advice to new Podcasters in Turkey The unedited YouTube video of this conversation can be seen here: https://youtu.be/pd1z5gMtfDw All of the links for that episode and everything else we mention in this conversation will be in your podcast app for this episode and at https://www.stephfuccio.com/geopatspodcasting Lastly, I’d love to hear from you! In this conversation, we chat about: the podcasting scene in Canada his background in audio and video the origin stories of both the Gonna Geek network AND the co-hosted Better Podcasting podcast. For those of you following the Geopats Books podcast, Better Podcasting will sound familiar because Stephen’s Co-Host, SP was our most recent guest on that podcast where we talked about the book that started the Expanse TV series, Leviathan Wakes. The link for that books episode and everything we mention in this podcasting conversation will be in your podcast app notes and at https://www.stephfuccio.com/geopatspodcasting/23 Lastly, I’d love to hear from you!Twitter,Instagram,LinkedIn & you can even leave a voice message onSpeakpipe. That conversation was published last week on Geopats Language. During this podcast part of the chat we cover things like accessibility as a blind podcast listener, his podcast listening habits, listening groups, apps, Big History and his favorite podcasts. It was an intense pleasure to chat with Kavein about his lifelong learning and how podcasts feed into this passion for him. It does for me too and I am guessing for it does for you as well. This is our first episode interviewing podcast listeners and I’d love to do more. If you are an avid podcast listener and want to chat about podcasts, do contact me. Shyft 2/11/2021 0 Comments Powered by RedCircle About 6 months into podcasting many Podcasters hit a wall. What am I doing? Why am I doing this? And other large, podcastery questions start haunting them. The inevitable episode of doubt happens and then there is either podfade or a shift in content. This is exactly the type of episode that I heard Dakota do on his Language Learning Lounge podcast. Because Dakota and I already knew each other, I decided that instead of just listening I would reach out and try to help. Or at least, ask a lot of questions to find out why this keeps happening to lovely Podcasters like him. This is the conversation that we had. Big & White, their podcasting nicknames, are two American Linguists who, until very recently were living in Nepal and creating a rather hilarious audio account of their daily lives. Their episodes covered much of what expat podcasts cover (https://www.podchaser.com/lists/expat-podcasts-107ZztJV0y) like food, weather, language, and cultural differences but there is an extra kick to their podcast. Their connection and how they bounce off each other is so much fun to listen to. This is the main reason I became a fan of The Big & White Podcast in the first place and definitely why I asked to interview them for the show. Don't worry, we also talk about podcasting bits like technology, social media, podcast learning curve, editing, audience feedback, Nepali podcasts, guests and advice for new Podcasters also. But this conversation is a bit more free flowing than some of the other Geopats Podcasting episodes because we dipped into some of their content topics too like their visual stickoutness in Nepal (thus the name of the podcast), weight lifting and so much more. And since they are Linguists that were doing field work all over Nepal, there is an episode coming on Geopats Language podcast with that geeking out aspect as well. Shaun of the Germany Experience takes time to reflect on his episode with us last year, when he was just a few episodes into his podcasting adventure. Well, I (Steph) am currently in Tirana, Albania (check https://www.instagram.com/stephfuccio/?hl=en on IG or https://twitter.com/stephfuccio on Twitter for more about this) but my guest, Aseloka Smith of the Colored Girl Beautiful podcast, is in the U.S. With Geopats Podcasting we hope to shake up your podcast creation process by listening to how others use the medium around the world and Aseloka will definitely get your creative juices flowing with what and how she has done The Colored Girl Beautiful. Also inspiring is our sponsor for this episode, Podcorn. They are a marketplace connecting Podcasters to Advertisers. There is more information about their services at 14:23 in this episode but for now I just want to say thanks Podcorn, for the sponsorship. Although Aseloka was touched by the places in Latin America that she lived earlier in her life, it is time her travel to engage with African-American singer, political activist and the Author of the book The Colored Girl Beautiful (TCGB) that inspired the podcast, E. Azalia Hackley , that brings her on the show. Today, we are headed to India, to talk to Vishnu Padmanabhan from the Writer and Geek podcast. Vishnu is a Podcaster by night (literally) and an Engineer by day but admits that photography would be his alternate career, if possible. If you’re a fan of the Geopats Coffee podcast then you’re familiar with Vishnu’s Co-Host and brother, Shankar. Vishnu and I covered everything that you can in podcasting, including: their podcast setup, dividing up tasks with a Co-Host (even if they are your brother!), podcasts in India, editing tech and tips, audience, outsourcing, podcast hosts, Podcasters community in India, advice for new Podcasters and more. Sound note: This interview was recorded pre-covid, when I was living in an apartment with extremely bad internet. Part of the delay with this episode is due to the sound issues that came up in post because of these tech issues. When we recorded, the podcast was hosted on Podbean and we decided to experiment with their beta audio live feature to chat with the audience. This was a lot of fun but had some disadvantages. Although we did a double ender for our own tracks (Vishu and I), the Podbean live track with the wonderful callers is NOT the best sound quality. So, if you are sensitive to that, feel free to skip ahead about 8 minutes once you get to that part. It's about halfway into the episode. If you like this episode, feel free to buy me a coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/geopats The full show notes are available at: https://www.stephfuccio.com/geopatspodcasting/14 Geopats Podcasting's podcast host is Captivate FM: An insanely Creator oriented hosting service with personality, marketing know how and more.
