Dr. Claire Chewapreecha is a Wellcome Intermediate and Sanger International Fellow based at Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit in Bangkok, Thailand. She works on melioidosis, a grossly under-recognised tropical disease, caused by a soil bacterium. Dr. Kate Baker is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool who leads a research group on the genomic epidemiology of bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance.
