July kicks off with a steady, stable and sober Full Moon in Capricorn on July 3rd. It’s a good time to ask what’s coming to a head for you right now. What fruitions and culminations can you see coming together - culminations of activities that you potentially started at the beginning of the year? Because Capricorn is our work and career-savvy sign, it’s likely got something to do with your vocation – whatever that may be for you. Sure, it’s a little testing, seeing as La Luna isn’t fully comfortable in this restrained earth sign. Nevertheless, it’s a productive Full Moon, one that helps us to all put our heads down and get back in the game.
Mars, our quintessential planet of drive, moves into equally hard working Virgo on July 10th. Thus, this middle part of the year is very much characterized by organization, planning, structure, and detail. Mars in Virgo is a stickler for perfection, so if you’re finding yourself fussing over the small things, that’s expected. Just don’t be too hard on yourself, darling. Having a critical approach is wonderful, but there’s a flaw in everything. That’s how the light gets in. That’s the beauty of being human.
If you’re looking for compassion, you’ll be able to find it with the sensitive and nurturing New Moon in Cancer on July 17th. This one allows us all to come back to our roots, to our inner child. Here, we are given the chance to ask for what we need right now, what builds our inner security, as opposed to the outer security suggested by the Full Moon in Capricorn and Mars in Virgo. This is a chance to balance it all.
Our biggest cosmic news for the month is, in fact, the retrograde of our lovely lady Venus. Turning on her (very glamorous) heel at 28 degrees of Leo on July 22nd, relationships – a topic governed by Venus – come under fire (probably quite literally). It’s possible that we have to take a moment to review our values and what we truly desire. It won’t be easy, but it’s a necessary process that only happens every eighteen months.
