Are you a 20-40 something caregiver caring for a partner, parent, grandparent, family member or friend? Are you feeling isolated in your caregiving role because no one your age is experiencing the same journey? Are you feeling stress, overwhelm & frustration because you're trying to provide care while maintaining some semblance of a life? And most importantly, are you in desperate need of support & community to help you see the silver linings and celebrate the small wins before you completely burnout? Young Life Interrupted is here with your weekly dose of personal stories, insights and conversations with other caregivers, just like you, and experts who can help guide you in the right direction when it comes to the most pressing questions you have from being abruptly thrown into your care journey and questions that continue to arise throughout it. Your host, Adrienne Glusman, is a change maker and professional speaker on the topic of Millennial Caregiving and former caregiver to her mom who battled Multiple System Atrophy. She helps young caregivers find community and connection to support them through every step of their care journey. Adrienne spent 10 years in her caregiving role, starting at age 29. Having “graduated” from caregiving and being on the other side of it for a year now, through sharing her story and the stories of others, she can help you see a path forward and also what else is possible in your life - as being in a season of caregiving at a young age does not have to be your end all be all. Caregiving at our age is your unfair advantage so if you are looking for support, you’re in the right place! To find out more visit @younglifeinterrupted on Instagram.

My Mom is Always With Me

August 26, 2021 19:00 - 29 minutes - 20.5 MB

This is a special episode where I’m honoring the 1-year anniversary of the passing of my mom.  I didn’t have any sort of service or celebration of life when she passed away last year.  I said I would do it on her birthday, September 22, but the day came and passed, then I said, well maybe something at the holidays… nothing.  So when launching the podcast this month, I said to myself, what better way than to honor my mom than to share, with all of you, a special episode where I reflect on wha...

Is There Anybody Like Me Out There?

August 23, 2021 09:00 - 18 minutes - 12.6 MB

Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on life as a young caregiver? Do you feel like no other friends are going through what you are & have a solid lack of support; that you don't have a future in dating or starting your own family, a hard time maintaining personal and social relationships with others?  By engaging with lots of young caregivers over the past few years, the #1 common theme I hear is that they feel isolated because no one their age or friends in their circle really get the...

Coming Out of the Caregiver Closet

August 13, 2021 21:00 - 17 minutes - 11.9 MB

Do you self-identify as a caregiver?  Or do you just consider yourself a dedicated son/daughter/partner/grandchild/friend?  To be perfectly honest,  it took me awhile to.  After all, a caregiver is someone in their 50’s, 60’s, 70’s not a thriving early 30-something! At the beginning, I just thought well I’m her daughter, her only child, so this is what I will do to help my Mom - plain and simple - she was always there for me - dedicated everything to me - so it was only natural I would be ...
