Thirty-seven years ago, a 16-year-old Jim Coon wanted to give kids in his neighborhood on Cortland’s Lamont Circle a safe, fun place to enjoy Halloween.
In the decades since, he’s continued the tradition and expanded it to anyone in the community brave enough to take on the madness that is the “Chiller Haunted House.”
Coon ran the haunt for many years out of his home on Madison Street, before the event moved to the Homer Center for the Arts last year for the first time.
A non-scary matinee is planned for Saturday (October 26) from 1 – 3 p.m.
Scary tours are planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 24-26) from 6-10 p.m.
