Which question will be the one to transform your life, your leadership, and your most precious relationships for the better? After feeling shamefully frustrated at the age of 43 that I could not answer the simple question, ‘What makes you happy,’ I went on a quest to find the answer. I couldn’t locate it in the many books I read, people I talked to, or adventures I pursued. Rather, the answer was revealed over time as I asked myself a simple question again and again and had the willingness and patience to discover the answer. Since that moment, I have embraced Courageous Curiosity as a way of life and this podcast is where I - along with my valued guests - share how we engage with courageous curiosity. It has absolutely transformed our lives, our leadership, and our relationships, and we are excited to see how it will transform yours for the better as well.

June 25, 2017 11:00 - 15 minutes - 5.79 MB

In today’s episode of Wonder Your Way to Brilliant I talk about the stories that we associate with transition or tell during times of transitions (ours or other people’s transitions), and how we experience the mixed pot of emotions that arise during a transition. As I have often indicated, a transition is natural, as natural as aging, leaves falling, and the earth spinning. It is neither bad nor good. It takes on the characteristics or qualities that we attribute to it. It becomes what it wi...

June 04, 2017 09:30 - 25 minutes - 10.2 MB

Just like animals that go into hibernation or trees that become dormant in winter, I have been in a period of quiet which often accompanies a period of transition or reinvention. While I am not yet ready to share the nature of the transition (more to come soon), in today’s episode of  Wonder Your Way to Brilliant I do share my tools and strategies for navigating transition. Just a trees lose leaves and then grow them again, waves come in and out, the moon waxes and wanes, we - as humans - ar...

How Does the Way in Which You Invest Your Time Reflect Your Priorities and Values?

March 26, 2017 10:30 - 13 minutes - 6.45 MB

If you acquired a precious artifact, piece of jewelry or rare memorabilia, how would you care for it? Most of us would handle these items with kid gloves, wouldn’t we?  We would store or display them in a safe or special place. We would handle with care. We would protect them, wouldn’t we? On today’s episode of Wonder Your Way to Brilliant I get curious about how we handle time. Isn’t time a precious resource? Aren’t our life’s moments finite and irreplaceable? Isn’t our time as precious as ...

How to Make PLAY a Priority

February 26, 2017 10:00 - 17 minutes - 8.17 MB

Last week I promised (at least in my post-script) that this week’s podcast would be fun and light. As I mentioned last week, February is typically a challenging month for me. LITERALLY!  Join me for today’s episode of Wonder Your Way to Brilliant, during which I share why things like indoor skydiving ar...

How to Cope with the February Blues

February 19, 2017 10:00 - 17 minutes - 8.2 MB

I don’t know about you, but February is typically the most challenging month for me of the year. I know I am not alone because the ‘February Blues’ is actually a thing, especially if you live where it is cold and dark in February. The trees are bare, the air is raw, and for many people, there seems to be a lot of change to cope with. This is why today’s episode of Wonder Your Way to Brilliant, is about coping with discomfort. Whether this discomfort is the result of a relationship challenge,...

How the Expectation Gap (and Valentine’s Day) is Impacting Your Happiness

February 12, 2017 10:00 - 14 minutes - 7 MB

Valentine’s Day has always been very curious to me. Hallmark created a holiday and the next thing you know, there is a day during the year on which more people than not - whether in a relationship or not - walk around with a faint or very strong feeling of insufficiency and unmet expectations. When the expectation is set all around us about what LOVE is supposed to look like (and this idea is very far from the reality, depth, and complexity of what love is actually like), the result isn’t pr...

The Gift of Feeling Heard

December 25, 2016 10:00 - 16 minutes - 7.53 MB

All month we have been talking about listening and today I want to offer that perhaps the greatest gift we can give to someone else and to ourselves is the gift of feeling heard. In today’s episode, I offer guidance on how you can give this gift in these final days of 2016 - and well beyond, of course. To whom might you want to give the gift of feeling heard by you? Why might you wish to give yourself the gift of feeling heard by you? How might you do this? This is the subject of today’s epi...

The Most Important Listening You Can Do

December 18, 2016 10:00 - 19 minutes - 9.22 MB

Most of our listening experiences are oriented outward, but I honestly believe that the most important listening we can do is oriented inward. In today’s episode, I explore WHY we should bother listening ...

How to Place Worthiness at the Center of Your Brilliant Life

November 27, 2016 10:00 - 18 minutes - 16.9 MB

I honestly believe that no matter how confident any of us seems, none of us is without a gap or fracture in our sense of worthiness. We all experience doubts in our sense of self-worth and value. I also believe that the world needs us to own our value and strengthen our sense of worthiness so we can bring our fullest self to this world. The world needs our contributions, gifts and ways of seeing the world. This is why this week’s episode is dedicated to offering a tool for tending to the str...

Feeling Unworthy and Incomplete in Relationship

November 13, 2016 11:00 - 13 minutes - 12.6 MB

Can a relationship make us feel worthy or complete and should that be our expectation? Never having learned how to cultivate our own worthiness, it totally makes sense that many of us adopt the paradigm that we are a ‘part’ and we can partner with another ‘part’ (hence ‘partner’) to become whole. But is that really what is supposed to happen? Is that how we become whole? Is this the function of relationship? In today’s episode, I explore and challenge this paradigm and offer up a new one t...

What is the Experience of Feeling Worthy?

November 06, 2016 11:00 - 11 minutes - 5.58 MB

For over 40 years, I suffered from a chronic lack of worthiness. I was exhausted, felt persistently empty, and could not offer the kind of love I knew was inside of me. My guess is, I am not alone. If any of this resonates with you, join me this for this episode of Wonder Your Way to Brilliant in which I explore why we feel so unworthy and how we can approach a deeper and lasting se...

Join me for today's episode of Wonder Your Way to Brilliant and let's explore together.

What to Do With All the Fear, Shame and Anxiety?

October 18, 2016 11:48 - 13 minutes - 6.37 MB

As much as we would like to think that we can free ourselves, it is clear that we will never eliminate fear, shame, and anxiety from our lives. They are part of the human experience. A word, gesture, or interaction can trigger one of these emotions in a split second, and at other times, we can spend most of a day, week or even month + steeped in these emotions. So if they are not going away, and we want to live a life that is present and inspired, what can we do with them? On today's episode...

If this challenging time was here to deliver a gift, what would the gift be?

September 21, 2016 23:41 - 37 minutes - 17.3 MB

All of us went through school and some of us met with more success than others, but how many of us ever really understood the purpose of schooling? The purpose of schooling has changed since the first grammar school opened in America in 1635, but for the last 100+ years, since the founding of the Association of American Universities, there has been a clear focus in K-12 education on preparing students for college and career. We have been focused through testing and success measures on succes...

If ‘good grades’ were not the measure of success, what would be?

September 06, 2016 14:44 - 24 minutes - 11.2 MB

With the start of the 2016 - 2017 school year upon us, students, teachers, and parents begin or resume play of this ‘Game of School.’ Whether this is a game you love or one that resembles the Robin Williams  movie Jumanji (the game that trapped the players until they played until the bitter end), today’s podcast suggests that it is nonetheless a game we invented and we must treat it as such. As an educator, I am passionate about learning AND I recognize that school as a learning institution ...
