Things are not business as usual. Now it is more important than ever to be intentional with any work time you can carve out of your day. No random goals this quarter. Let’s be intentional and strategic so we can keep our businesses running and profitable.

In Episode 30, we are talking about three things that you should do or consider before setting a quarter two goal for your business. If you don’t usually set a quarterly goal, now is a good time to start. A goal will give you:

An intentional directionA next step (Less overwhelm)A path to head down (Less overthinking)

Where to start? Here are the cliff notes:

Take some time to review your business plan, your calendar, or a yearly goal you set. Are these plans still relevant? Does it still make sense, based on your clients new needs? I am not suggesting to scrap your business plan or make a major pivot. You may just need to adjust your plan just for the time being. Don’t plow forward with plans that may no longer be strategic. How can you best serve your clients right now? Where do they need you most?

Is this the best goal for right now? Is your goal the best use of your limited time? Is it what your business needs most right now? Be real with yourself on how much time you can devote to your business. For most of us, it is not the same as Q1. Not only do we have more demands on our time, most of us don’t have the emotional bandwith to hustle and concentrate as we did before. That’s ok. Give yourself grace. Choose a goal that is realistic. You can always complete it and then move on to another goal.

Check your foundation or for gaps in your business. If your business has slowed down, or you can’t work the way you once did, use this time to improve your foundational pieces of your business. Many of you winged a certain part of your business, assuming you would get back to it someday. Today may be that day. What system needs fine tuning? What can be automated? Maybe you need to work on some continuing education. These can all be good uses of your time.

If you aren’t sure where to begin, I can help.
