The Reebok Nano X CrossFit shoe releases today in the UK and for Reebok UNLOCKED members in the United States. Our review is coming on Elite Sports Insider this weekend.

Good morning and welcome to the WODDITY podcast for news about CrossFit. We are a daily podcast, Monday through Friday, doing CrossFit news in five minutes or less.

My name is Ben Garves and today is Tuesday, the 28th of April, 2020.

Reebok Nano X Now Available

It was a deep, cold night in Brooklyn as an alarm blared at 11:55 PM, rousing to life one unsuspecting dog and one giddy grown-ass man. That man was me, that night was last night. It was the official early release of the Reebok Nano X, the tenth edition of the CrossFit shoe. Did the shoe launch on time? No. But did I sit there and refresh for an hour and five minutes? Absolutely.

And, sure enough, at 1:05 AM on Tuesday, the 28th of April I was able to go back to bed with sweet dreams of purple and orange colorways.

You can’t order these shiny new shoes until May 5th unless you join Reebok’s free UNLOCKED program, so I have a link to that in the show notes of your friendly neighborhood podcasting app and at WODDITY.com.

I put the fastest, speediest, most-excellently-expedited (and expensive) shipping on mine. If they get here this week, you’ll see an in-depth review on Elite Sports Insider this Sunday. If not, I’ll have the Reebok Nano X review up shortly after.

Reebok Nano X UK Release Date

Unlike previous years where the UK release date was slightly more ambiguous than in the US, we do have confirmation that the Reebok Nano X is available today through WIT for compatriots affiliated with Sam Briggs, Zack George, Elliott Simmonds, and Megan Lovegrove. That just means if you live United Kingdom. I’m assuming they’ll even ship to Emma McQuaid and Cliona NíCheallacháin NicChárthaigh in Ireland. Yes. I spent the time learning Cliona’s name, so I’m embracing any opportunity to say it as often as possible.

Now, what else is going on in the news?

Asia CrossFit Championship Canceled

The Asia CrossFit Championship was the first Sanctional to announce postponement back in early March, but they’ve joined a number of events which have converted that postponed status into a full-on cancellation. According to an email sent to athletes this week, competitors should expect a refund of their event enrollment fees by May 1st. Reported by Morning Chalk Up, this is the seventh all-out cancellation of Sanctional, while events like the Asbury Park Summer Games prefer to look at this as a postponement until next season.

Annie and Katrin on Dottir Talks

Double two-time CrossFit Games champions Annie Thorisdottir and Katrin Davidsdottir have kicked off a new YouTube series they’re calling “Dottir Talks”. These two close friends talk often and now they’re giving us a unique window into their relationship by filming it. The first episode leaps into what the the patronym “Dottir” means to them.

And in a very honest honorable mention, Tia-Clair Toomey talked to Rachel Hosie at Business Insider about her struggles with body image as she grew from an aging ideal of what a “feminine” body type is to the body she built to earn herself three consecutive Fittest on Earth titles.

And that’s it for news about CrossFit for Tuesday, April 28th. Thanks for listening. Please be sure to rate, review, subscribe, and share. For WODDITY, I’m Ben Garves. Behave yourselves out there.
