A Word To The Wise – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps.  We are on Day 1875 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.  Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge.  So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps.  Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy.  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16&version=NLT (Proverbs 16:16)  How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!    If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life.  So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Wisdom_Trek, and it is: A word to the wise is sufficient.  A word to the unwise is resented.
A Word To The Wise

The exciting fact about wise people is that they are always seeking to gain additional wisdom.  They fully understand that they are not all-knowing, nor do they have all the wisdom needed.  While there may be a diminishing return on gaining knowledge for knowledge’s sake, there is certainly no limitation nor diminishing return on the depth of wisdom a person can achieve.  The wiser one becomes, the more humble and mature one becomes.  Whereas additional knowledge tends to puff up, additional wisdom makes you more humble.  Wisdom is the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment.  A word to the wise will make that person wiser; whether that word is rebuke or edification, the wise will add to their wisdom.

On the other hand, a word to the unwise will be resented and will usually end up with that person arguing, being defensive, or sulking.  Many times all three.  The unwise lack confidence in themselves and God, so they try to cover their lack of confidence.  So if you find yourself resistant when someone corrects you or provides a word of exhortation, you may lack the wisdom, discernment, and understanding needed for continued spiritual growth.   Grown in wisdom each day, we are all lacking in some area of life.

So don’t bother correcting mockers;
they will only hate you.
But correct the wise,
and they will love you.
Instruct the wise,
and they will be even wiser.
Teach the righteous,
and they will learn even more.

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.
