When booking a ride on paratransit, one can expect to hear a dull, almost robotic voice on the other end of the phone cord, but Victor was surprised to find a delightful woman behind the voice on the telephone.

Having started with TELUS, as a telephone customer service representative, Miss Julie Duncan started her employment with Toronto’s paratransit system, Wheel-Trans, as a reservationist, booking rides for the elderly and disabled, when TELUS customers were drafted into becoming overflow representatives, in response to the over burned reservation system.

And so, it was a lucky break that Victor Met Julie, booking a ride for someone, as he was so impressed by this woman, he decided to get to know her right there and then, and here are the results of that first interaction. Come join the conversation on Meet Me.

You too can be a guest on Meet Me, telling people about your life, and how you’ve dealt with blindness, whether you faced any issues in your life, and how you came to get passed those issues. These experiences have the dual effect of letting others going through the same issues, that they are not alone, in addition to giving others strategies they can used to surpass the issues they are also facing.
