On this episode of 'When did You Know?' I am joined by the UK's LGBT+ Poet Laureate, Trudy Howson. Trudy has been the inaugural LGBT+ Poet Laureate since 2016 and in this role she has written poetry that reflects the diversity of the LGBT+ community and the LGBT+ experience. Her work has been featured on the BBC as part of their London 2012 Olympics coverage and been published in The times, The Telegraph and numerous online publications. Ex-actress and world traveller Trudy shares her joyful and painful experiences as a lesbian from an accepting childhood through the trauma of grief at losing her long-term lover. You can find out more about Trudy's work at www.lgbtpoetlaureate.org.uk.
