Exploring the disconnect between black mothers and daughters. The unspoken destruction of black daughters by their mothers. Black girls are often silently destroyed by the unresolved traumas of our mothers. We are often force feed the lessons and held to a biased set standards adopted by our mothers and grandmothers deeply rooted in their inability to heal and let go of past hurts and traumatic experiences. Often leading to black girls prematurely leaving home, developing low self esteem and other unaddressed mental health issues.
