If you have ever experienced “mom guilt” this podcast is for you. If you have ever experienced a sleepless baby, this podcast is for you. If you have ever dealt with a poop explosion in the middle of a crowded mall while horrified members of the public look on, with no spare clothes and no diaper, this podcast is for you. Hello Gems, parents and guardians from around the world. Welcome to What a GEM podcast. I am your host, Barbara, currently coming to you from Abu Dhabi, UAE. Let me just give you a little bit more info about me and what I am hoping to do with What a GEM Podcast. When I found out I was pregnant with my first (what a surprise that was), I was in a new country and felt completely lost. I wasn't sure where to turn to find information, a support system, or even an obstetrician. I suffered from undiagnosed postpartum depression, and probably would have gotten help if I had known the signs or where to go for support. I have stumbled through motherhood and eventually found my way or a way (in most areas). Hindsight is 20/20, though! I am hoping that What a GEM Podcast can grow and become an outreach support to parents who are like me, so they don't have to struggle like I did. That being said, I would like some posts to be UAE info specific, but other posts can definitely be for parents around the globe.
