Sean Nye is a Professor of Musicology at the University of Southern California. He teaches courses on music, and popular culture, including featured courses on electronic dance music & culture. His research mainly deals in German and sound studies, techno music, Berlin and Modeselektor. Sean has a Ph.D. in Comparative Studies in Discourse and Society from the University of Minnesota. In this episode, we spoke about his course in dance music and how he approaches teaching, studying in the city of Berlin, Kraftwerk, rave music, Modeselektor, and much more.
