How you talk to yourself matters.

Why?

If no one hears you, why does it matter?

Because you cannot escape the effect your words have on you

Even if no one hears you.

When you think a thought, that thought has the power to create something for you.

A feeling.

An action.

And eventually a result.

I think that we all believe to some extent that our words matter and our thoughts matter, but we think this about things out there in the world, and about other people, and about all kinds of circumstances.

What’s critical to know is that even your very own words in your mind, not even spoken out loud, will have an effect on you and how things go for you.

How you describe yourself matters…the words you use when you think of where you are on this journey, of learning to stop overeating. Whether you just did something well or you did something with a bunch of mistakes.

Whatever you say to yourself quietly in your own mind, will register and produce good, neutral or negative feelings.

So, my question to you is: how do you describe how you are and what you’re doing right now in the world of eating and weight?

Are you a hot mess?

Or a work in progress?

Let’s explore together and dial down that internal hot mess and dial up that internal work in progress.
