Two of Canada’s pioneering cannabis retailers, Don Biere and Carol Gwilt, realized a dream by opening up Da Kine Smoke and Beverage Shop on Vancouver’s iconic Commercial Drive. Months later, it was raided dramatically by police, causing more legal trouble for Don and Carol and removing a valued piece of the city’s cannabis culture.
