The weekend and race itself, which unfolded during the 2023 NYC Marathon, took an unforeseen turn for our host, Letty. A spoiler alert reveals that Letty battled food poisoning, significantly altering the anticipated experience. Despite the unexpected challenge, Letty shares some regrets and how with a genuine spirit how she managed to salvage an awesome time, expressing a determination to return for redemption in the 2025 edition.


Adding a serendipitous twist to the post-race recovery, we encountered a familiar face in the medical tent – Chief Medical Director, Dr. Calvin Sun, MD, a previous guest on the show. In an amusing turn of events, out of the 1800 people present, Letty ran into him while seeking medical attention for the food poisoning and hypothermia. This unexpected reunion underscores the interconnected nature of the running community.
