Take some sharp scissors, throw some tattoos and music in, then mix it up with a motorcycle and freemasonry, top it off with a beautiful wife that also is a pro at cutting and styling and you have Jeff Matson with Matson and Co. Salon. Located on State St. across from the Granada Theatre at 1213 State suite F, this has become the place to go in Santa Barbara for women's and men's haircuts and color.
Jeff was born in the LA area but grew up here in Santa Barbara, going to Santa Barbara High and attending the Santa Barbara Beauty College that was adopted by SBCC. Jeff set out on his career, being inspired by other masculine, tattooed male stylists and spent 18 years working for another salon with his now wife and current co-owner Nada as well as a couple other stylists that ended up following them to Matson and Co. when that salon closed its doors.
Jeff doesn't just run a successful salon in Matson and Co. He also is very much into Freemasonry, working with the Shriners, Olympic lifting at Innate Fitness as well as tattoos and music.
In this podcast you will learn more about Jeff, his road to owning his own shop. Also he speaks about what being a Freemason is all about and some of his favorite Tattoo artists. We learn some of his favorite things and habits that keep him successful but extremely grounded.
