http://metchosinmuse.ca/pdf/2021/MMuse-Jan21.pdf (bottom of page 11) welcome to the green Antler's #waterfowl podcast. This is episode #24 but the #first on this #Anchor platform. Sincere gratitude to 15 year old Colin Sparks from metchosin, who has been so generous with his time and ideas. We met virtually at the VICC youth climate forum hosted on may 8. We were in the same breakout room and have been talking since about concerns and goals. He talks about the relaxing beauty of trees, thinking more than 2 feet in front of you and taking agressive action against global warming, that is based in science and spares no expense. He shares about heat bubbles in urban environment, green roofs, rain gardens and how hospitals with views of trees promote healing and respite. It boggles the mind that sensitive ecosystems and habitat are reduced to municipal tangible natural assets with little respect for the bigger picture of how the unique environment here on Vancouver island is part of a something more globally significant.
