This last conversation of the mini-series shares the realities of how educators can model their mindset to inspire pupils, influence teachers and lead change. Lesley Hill and Gemma Whitby detail their journey of implementing and leading others through change and how they practise growth mindset in their leadership.
We discuss how passion has driven their career, the importance of having trust in yourself as well as others and taking risks.
Lesley Hill began her education career as an adult literacy teacher. She has worked as a primary school teacher, education leader and executive headteacher, and has facilitated and led a range of teaching and leadership training courses. She is co-author of the book ‘Fast Feedback’ and currently works as a freelance author and trainer.
Gemma Whitby has a Masters in Teaching and Learning and has experience as a classroom teacher, middle leader and senior leader, as well as in leading primary science training courses. She is co-author of the book ‘Fast Feedback’ and is currently sharing the approach with others in her role as an education consultant for Ivy Learning Trust.
