Today’s dose of vitamin D is dedicated to protecting your energy. Do you ever find yourself getting caught up with what others think about you? How you should talk? How you should dress? What you should do? How you should do it? What you should believe in and what you shouldn’t? It’s exhausting, isn’t it? Trying to fit within someone’s definition of who you are and who you should be? Well, how about you just do you and do it unapologetically? I mean if you think about it, how can you expect to be your best if you don’t even know how or what it is to bring out your best and what I can tell you for sure, is... it’s not dictated by anyone else but you.

When I think about protecting my energy, about being solid in my “Yeses” and firm in my “No’s,” I think about the song “Fussy” by Malia. When she sings, “I’m flying so high that I don’t care what you’re thinking of me.” Imagine that…being above what others think of you because you know your truth and guess what, no one can beat you with your own truth. It strikes me as the motto of someone who moves to the beat of their own drum, because no one else can sing your song. That’s the same for you. No one can sing your song, because nobody can live your life but you. so live.

Live your life for you! live your dreams for you! Whatever it is… just do it for you and that’s where the peace resides. That carefree zen…in the zone space that... benefit of protecting your energy. I can’t tell you how important it is to my craft that my mental and my physical space is one…at peace…in my zone in my zen and that my discernment is keen and I trust myself because I have actively made the choice to choose me. To do Dawn for Dawn and to be honest... It isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. The world doesn’t always provide the support we “need,” but that’s why we have to fly high because the view is always different than below. So yes, I am particular about protecting my peace and sometimes I get passionate about making sure people don’t disrupt that space and like Malia, even when I’m fussy it’s “over the things that matter to me” and ain’t nothing wrong with that because just like Malia continues on…even “the fruit of the tree ain’t sorry to be where it’s sunny.” Mmm, did you catch it?

Welp, that’s it for your dose of “Vitamin D.” Be sure to follow me on all social media @dawndaispeaks and until next time, always remember, "YOU are your greatest asset."
