First broadcast on FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL at 19:00 on January 30th 2022

This week I had about thirty seconds to tell you all about the minty fresh goodness that’s in tonight’s episode before the time engines launched us on our way.  Featuring the lovely fresh combination of a sprinkle of LISA, and a soupcon of ANDREW, that pair of the very best ingredients that make up the cool, fizzing chocolatey goodness that is the glass and a half of full fat content that goes into every one of their ROUND THE ARCHIVES podcasts, they join me for the latest VISION ON SOUND to talk all about the adverts they remember from several golden eras which might not actually be as good today as they always were.

We spend a jolly hour rambling through the kitchen cupboards of our memories and discussing the nostalgia, philosophy, and effectiveness (or otherwise) of several campaigns (one or two of which - perhaps confusingly - do pop up to illustrate some of the points we are making) and pointing out one or two familiar faces who held out their hands and took the filthy lucre in order to sell us all those familiar items that we might never have otherwise known that we needed. Expect several long-forgotten brand names, familiar slogans, jingles, and cultural links in our less-than-fully comprehensive examination of the past, present, and future of advertising, all of which is now available at very affordable rates in this one weekly part.

PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.
