In Episode 002 of Vision & Graft I sit down to talk to Conor O'Callaghan, a London based director who I have collaborated with on many occasions, most recently on his short film maithiúnas.

We begin by talking about one of my inspirations for starting the podcast, the BBC documentary, Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency and the impact it had on us both. The documentary explores the mental health and suicide crisis affecting young men and seeks to find answers to the growing problem.

I recommend that you watch the documentary and have provided a link below.

We go on to discuss the shocking mental health and suicide statistics the documentary presents to us and then to the importance of talking about our emotions, in particular for men.

Conor very kindly opens up about his own experiences growing up and working as creative and this insight makes the episode well worth listening to. There are great takeaways I'm sure we can all benefit from.

We are never alone in the struggles that we face.

Vision & Graft aims to inspire action, give hope and normalise the discussion of mental health issues within creative sectors as well as more widely throughout society.
