In this episode, former TPV editor Lawrence Rubin interviews Ron Hassner, who is Chancellor’s Professor of Political Science at Berkeley were he also holds the Helen Diller Family Chair in Israel Studies. He researches the role of ideas, practices and symbols in international security, and he is interested in the relationship between religion and violence. He is a world leading scholar in his research about the politics of interrogational torture and for this episode he was interviewed about his recently published book Anatomy of Torture and his recently published article “Persuasive and Unpersuasive Arguments against Torture”.
