Goal's Seth Vertelney has the American women’s soccer news you need to know today.

The U.S. women’s national team is continuing their preparations for Friday’s Olympic quarterfinal against the Netherlands, a game that will be a rematch of the World Cup final two years ago.

The Dutch attack has been in amazing form so far in Japan, with the team scoring an incredible 21 goals in their first three matches. They have been vulnerable defensively though, as they have also given up eight total goals.

The Americans will look to improve their offense in the game against the Dutch, having been shut out in two of their three games at the Olympics so far.

Should the U.S. defeat the Netherlands, they will face either Canada or Brazil in the semi-final on Monday.

In other news, Manchester United officially confirmed Marc Skinner as their new head coach. Skinner resigned as coach of the NWSL’s Orlando Pride earlier this week.
