"Maya Angelou says we all have a story within us, and it's sad if we don't share it." – Deb Crowe

In this episode, Holly & Kristin talk with Deborah about:

How she was forced to grow up on a nanosecond when her dad passed away at the age of 54 and Deb was only 21 years old.
The story of a VP at her very last job who took her out for lunch one day. He told her she was losing her job at five o'clock. And he wanted to treat her for lunch because he wanted to tell her, "it's nothing you've done." Her poor manager chose not to see the leader in her and foster and help her grow in our company. He was a heart-centered leader. He inspired her to go out start her own business.
It's been hard, but it's been worth it because she has been in charge of herself ever since.
The many inflection points in her journey to doing the work she loves today.

 Key Takeaways

Deb's definition of heart-centered leadership is honoring your connection with people. When you look at your work, people have to come before the paper. People are the paper. People are the processes. People are the protocols, the regulations. Everything comes down to that intrinsic value.
Recognize that we're not pizza, not everybody likes us. We're like coriander. We're a little bit spicy, but we're not for everybody.
Life is too short not to try to follow your dreams.
