On Today’s episode of Up Next, I am joined by none other than Farida El Sharkawy. Farida is the youngest Egyptian to ever climb Mount Everest base camp (she was only 17 at the time) yup you read that right! We discuss her journey and how she ended up climbing Mount Everest with other members from the online community Surviving Hijab. Farida also shares some of her experiences with physical and cyberbullying and shares how she built up the courage to stand up to her bullies and SPEAK UP.
Check out her page to learn more about the message of inclusivity and tolerance that she aims to spread as a hijabi along with her community Surviving Hijab.
