YPulse, the leading authority on GenZ and Millennial opinions and behaviors, has recently released a report on how young consumers’ feel about their privacy and the way brands handle their data.

The trend report shows that three quarters of young consumers believe that brands are tracking their digital life and 78% are skeptical about online security.

In this podcast MaryLeigh Bliss, VP of content at YPulse, dives into the report’s details, explaining what the research can tell us about how young consumers are feeling about their digital privacy and what it means for brands.

Topics include:

Why young consumers are concerned about the way their data is being used.
The interesting differences between how GenZ and Millennial generations think about their data security.
What Millennial parents (yes, they’re parents!) are thinking regarding their children’s privacy and what it means for connected toys.
Who young consumers believe is responsible for keeping their data safe (spoiler: it isn’t them).
How negative real life experiences have influenced not only trust in brands, but also young consumer’s digital behavior.
Which types of experiences young consumers willing to exchange their data for.
Which consumers are more inclined to embrace biotechnology to secure their data.

As of VP of Content, MaryLeigh Bliss oversees YPulse’s syndicated products. Her role also involves acting as a culture and youth insights expert, consulting with brands to identify actionable insights, align young consumer strategy, and layer generational and youth knowledge over data findings.

MaryLeigh has worked with a range of brands, including Facebook, Hampton, Bravo, HBO, Target, Best Buy, and Gap, and has been quoted as a youth insights authority by publications including The New York Times, Digiday, Business Insider, and Adweek.
