In her latest book, "The Myth of the American Dream," she explores whether or not the individualistic and autonomous values of the American Dream are at all compatible with Jesus’ instruction to “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Her goal as a writer has been to connect people while simultaneously unsettling them.
