In 2002, Eddie was working at 24-hour fitness, and during his job interview, he had an interesting experience with the interviewer. During the interview, the macho trainer conducting the interview shared a story that made Eddie feel like he needed to be something he wasn't. One of the things Eddie learned from this was that as we tell stories to other people, we need to be aware of how we are representing ourselves to others and what they are gathering from what we are telling them. Another major thing Eddie experienced during this time was the feeling of inadequacy that he felt during the initial interview. When it comes to doing things that you want to do, the worst thing you can do is change who you are. If we try to change who we are to fit into a mold that simply doesn't fit, we won't find success, but we will be more and more drained by the end. We need to own who we are.
