Why do people shame each other? And why od middle eastern people shame each other? And what are the negative consequences of shaming people? Is shaming effective in controlling bad behavior? Why do we think that the only way to motivate people to behave better is through shaming to keep individuals in obedience? I grew up with messages of conditional love, shame, and the need to hide. The middle eastern culture is to deal with your problems with secrecy, silence & shame.
