Holding space means being physically, mentally, and emotionally present for someone. It means putting your focus on someone to support them as they feel their feelings. As much as you will feel the need to fix, solve or defend, the point of holding space is to make the conversation about their experience and not about yours. Creating this safe space is the most loving thing you can do for another person....it can also be very difficult.
