In this episode we track the years of instability in Germany following the Treaty of Versailles, which combined with the Great Depression of 1929 to allow the NSDAP's rise to dictatorial power. Repeated violations of the Versailles rules are met with weak, disunited responses from the Western powers, only giving the new political forces in Germany more confidence and audacity on the eve of the Second World War.
