Onesimus put distance between his master, Philemon, and himself. This disobedience created a debt that he had no way of repaying. Through contact with Paul, Onesimus finally went back and became a fellow laborer. The hardest thing to do sometimes is to go back to the place where you failed and start over. Onesimus reminds us there is always a way home. Like the prodigal, there is always enough bread in the Father's house to spare, because we all stand in the same place: sinners being saved by grace. VF-2079  Philemon
