There is no shortage of email editing tools. Fancy or simple, expensive or free, it seems the list grows longer each month. But despite the number of editors available, one has consistently stood out: BEE (Beefree.io). With a unique model and name, I wanted to understand why they’ve succeeded against such cluttered competition. Luckily, BEE’s CEO Massimo Arrigoni was kind enough to sit down and give me the scoop.

BEE stands for 'best email editor', the project's ambitious goal. Over 100,000 marketers use BEE every month, either embedded in over 500 SaaS applications or online at beefree.io. Massimo is also a product strategist at the group level at MailUp (https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/MAIL:IM), and was Head of Product at the company prior to his current role. Before joining MailUp in 2011, Massimo was co-founder and CEO at Early Impact, a California-based software company that was one of the first developers of a fully integrated e-commerce system (ProductCart), used by thousands of online stores in the 2000s. Massimo serves on the board of advisors at Denver-based Email On Acid, and mentors startups in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born in Italy, Massimo has been living the USA since the mid 90s.
