Being a congressman is not for the faint of heart, and US Representative Barry Loudermilk, from Georgia, has faced more than his share of challenges there. After a career in the US Air Force, he ran for office with the belief that, “You can either accept the status quo…or you can do something about it.”

Since 2015, he has survived a baseball game shooting in Washington, DC, a near-fatal car accident, an assassination attempt, and a train crash. No matter what happens, though, he stays focused on his mission, despite the often brutal circumstances.

You’ll hear:

About his father’s distinguished military service in some of the most famous battles in history

The best piece of advice he got when deciding to run for office

Why he ran TOWARD the gunfire, instead of away from it, during the congressional baseball game shooting

What keeps him focused and moving forward when things get tough in life

What it’s like to be heavily involved in the January 6th investigation
