TrendingThursday with Enoch Leffingwell - 06.08.23

TwoSistas welcomed to this TrendingThursday podcast, Episode #642 on June 8, 2023, Enoch Leffingwell.  Enoch is an International Speaker, Best-Selling Author of the Book:  "I Want A Mentor, Now What Do I Do?", and business advisor with a heart to serve. He mentors authors, speakers, coaches, and other high-level entrepreneurs on how to expand their influence, multiply their income, and increase their impact online.

Enoch is the true American success story.  From a poor missionary living in his car to owning a 6-figure business.  Life before that certainly defined his character going forward in life.  Success for many does not come easy and today’s topic of conversation on this TrendingThursday was centered around “habits” and how for Enoch, his early childhood habits took a turn.

At the age of 12, Enoch was a very unhealthy young boy who suffered a heart attack (and so many other health ailments.)  Enoch was also bullied and turned to food for comfort.  (It’s hard to even imagine at such a young age that this could happen to Enoch but in many ways, this health scare in his life shaped his future.)

Enoch had the support and assistance from his Mom and later started to develop new and healthier habits.  (He lost the weight and to this day you would never know that he was once that heavy.)

Habits have a way of sometimes distorting our journey, whatever our goals may be.  As Enoch mentioned it’s our character that determines us to act in a specific way and it’s all about shifting the identity to match the goal.  We have to pause and figure out how to shift the identity and how to connect our purpose with our “why”.  (In other words, keep asking “why”.) 

In Chapter 16 of his book, “What Gets Scheduled Gets Done” (Luke 14:26).  Organization is the ultimate key and as stated in Chapter 16, “Look at organizing like budgeting your time.”  “Achieving Goals is Like Building a Tower.”
