Welcome to episode 27 of Trail Running Ireland. The show is hosted by Eoin Flynn, UTMB Finish Line Race Announcer and 10 times Irish International Mountain Runner.

Firstly a shout out to Joe O´Leary and Kevin Leahy who have just completed what has been described as the longest hardest high level route in Ireland, "The Iveragh Traverse". Kevin and Joe ran for 22 hours, facing all the elements nature could throw at them, sunburn and windchill, over 47 summits, 85km and 7,500m overall ascent. Well done guys, hope the recovery is going well.

We´ve also news on the UTMB and René Borg brings us a fascinating discussion on "Deliberate Practice".

Our feature interview this week is with the great Jonathan Wyatt:

President of the World Mountain Running Association6 time World Mountain Running Champion8 time World Mountain Running Grand Prix Winner2 time Olympian.

It´s a really enjoyable chat with Jonathan ranging from his work with the WMRA to reminiscing about those legendary days when he was Champion of the World, including one win on home soil in New Zealand, and Jonathan also chats about his two runs in the Olympic Games.
